Children Policy

Children are ages 2–11. Infants under 2 are handled separately on flights.

How ages work on DownFare

DownFare aggregates flights, hotels, tours, and stays from multiple suppliers. Age categories and pricing for children are set by the airline, hotel, or property you book with — not by DownFare directly.

Default age categories (flights)

Unless a specific airline states otherwise, DownFare applies the IATA industry standard: Infant 0–23 months (on an adult’s lap unless a seat is purchased), Child 2–11 years (own seat; fare may differ), Adult 12+ years. Always confirm your airline’s rules at checkout.

Hotels, stays & vacation rentals

Each property sets its own child policy — minimum ages, extra-guest charges, cribs, and free child stays. Those details appear on the listing before you book. If no policy is shown, contact DownFare support before booking.

Tours & transfers

Age requirements and pricing for children vary by operator and are listed on each activity’s booking page. Some tours have minimum ages for safety.

Unaccompanied minors

DownFare does not independently manage unaccompanied minor services. Contact the airline after booking — most carriers require advance arrangement and fees (commonly ages 5–14, varies by carrier).

Questions

If a child’s age category isn’t clear at checkout, or a supplier’s policy conflicts with what’s shown on DownFare, contact DownFare Support before completing your booking. Final age classifications, fares, and eligibility are determined by the operating airline, hotel, or tour provider.
